Song of Change
As Adam said to Eve,
‘This fall will never leave,’
So stayed the way of man,
It ends as it began.
The Queen beset the King
With jewels and diamond rings.
So weighed down with gold,
The earth itself was sold.
And each divided up
The tomb itself was shut -
As wax begets the seal,
But melted will not heal.
The infant lays in sleep
So soundly in the deep.
Its wake will not yet come,
The darkness will go on.
Winter through to summer,
Life’s a downhill runner.
No sooner flame than frost,
In winning it is lost.
